The tides turned this year, and we are excited to see travel demand booming! Many of our loyal clients are traveling on long-awaited voyages, from Alaska to Antarctica, while at the same time planning for future adventures. Now more than ever, planning ahead is the best way to secure that prime space in a balcony suite or that final cabin on the coveted Holiday departure. With many destinations filling up early for next year (and even 2025!) we recommend planning that long-awaited expedition 8-12 months in advance.
Expedition Sales Manager, Chris Myers, lists 4 reminders why we encourage you to to book early….
- For small ships, remote lodges, and many hotels, the best rates are typically available well in advance (8-12 months) before departure.
- Availability for direct flights, business class seats, and easy connections often fill up well in advance. Also, plan if you want to use miles or credits for your flights.
- On ships, the lower deck and upper deck fill first. Book early for a spacious view suite or one of those extremely limited triple cabins for your family.
- Holiday departures over Thanksgiving and Christmas are already filling up for 2023 and even 2024. Booking Spring Break 2024 now is not uncommon so if the young ones in your family know their school schedule, go ahead and plan early so everybody is prepared and looking forward to an adventure.
Prime destinations booking now…..
Arctic 2024: The prime Arctic season in Europe’s polar bear capital of Svalbard begins in April and May. These limited departures have the very best chance of seeing Polar Bears hunting for seals on the ice or catching a glimpse of impossibly cute polar bear cubs. For North American travelers who wish to stay closer to home, many choose to visit the Canadian Arctic which packs fascinating cultural interactions, serene arctic scenery, and iconic wildlife into a short 7-week season running from Late July to early September. Arctic dates for 2024 have just been released and many have wonderful early booking offers to take advantage of now.
Alaska 2024: Demand for Alaska expeditions is through the roof! The 2023 Alaska summer season will be one for the record books and we fully expect summer 2024 to fill up earlier than we have ever seen before. This is an ideal trip for the whole family to enjoy with grandparents strolling with a naturalist onshore, parents off hiking in the coastal rain-forest, and the kids trying out a paddle board in a secluded cove. If a family trip to Alaska is on the list for 2024 call us today to get started planning.
Galapagos Holiday Trips: Not only is the Galapagos another of our favorite your-round family destinations, but it’s also a great destination to visit over the Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Spring Break holidays. In fact, we often recommend planning two years in advance since aligning family schedules can be a challenge.
Whichever destination you are considering, we always recommend that you plan early to find the best rates and availability and to make sure your trip to and from home is as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
